Women’s Book Club

Mazel Tov! You have just voted to embark on a literary journey with one of my favorite characters of all time, Ivy Rowe. Our Kehilla Bookclub selection for this month is Fair & Tender Ladies by Lee Smith. I can’t tell you how many times I have read this book, and I am so excited to be sharing it with you. Just a word about the book: the book is a collection of letters written by Ivy Rowe, and the first part of the book might be a little difficult to read, but please embrace the grammar and spelling, for it is intentional and a huge part of the the artistry of the book!

Our next meeting is on February 20 at 7:30. We will meet at Casa de la Lynette Joel, 500 Franklin Road. I am considering making a traditional Appalachian spread of food in honor of the book. Thoughts? (Thinking about a traditional corn bread with soup beans….)

Thanks!
